This project involved the sensitive restoration of the existing Tate School, inclusive of refurbishment and restoration of the original sash windows and shutters to their former glory and the interior painting of the modern new extension.

BEFORE picture of restoration of Tate School. We worked closely with a Conservation Architect. All sash windows and shutters were removed and refurbished in our workshop and then refitted.

One of Ireland's finest Elizabethan Manor Houses. The decorative historical plasterwork dates back to between 1565 and 1575 - this determined the architectural solutions and methods to be employed in the upgrade and conservation works.

Special care was required in protecting medieval artefacts and tombs during the painting of the Chancel and the use of breathable paint was required in accordance with OPW standards for the conservation of national monuments.

To comply with industry standards we measure paint density at each application which can then be forwarded to clients upon request.

Nigel Doyle
Nigel is a self-employed painting contractor for the past 25 years. He holds a current tax clearance certificate and complies with all Health and Safety Requirements.
He stands out from the bigger contractors because he completes the jobs himself and if the project demands he can gather a small team - all experts in their chosen fields.
